Age of a New Werewolf
Chapter 7
The Horrific Attachment

After the fuse between Mrs. Lupin and Remus Mr. Lupin went back to work on the shed. “ Hey Remus, you wanna know how you can help me?” The boy nodded excitedly happy he could become some use. “ Can you please get me a glass of lemonade.” The boy nodded excitedly He sprinted into the small wooden house and to the refrigerator. Remus took the heavy pitcher of light yellow lemonade and slowly poured it in a glass. He put two ice cubes in it and trotted back to his dad.

“ Here, Daddy!” He held up the glass, apparently very proud of himself.  His dad smiled retrieving the tall glass and taking a big gulp.

“Thank you, Remus. This really hits the spot.” He ruffled the brown locks planted on Remus’ head and kissed the top of it. Mr. Lupin pointed to a small building, “So, what do you think? The walls are kind of thin, but I think I can think of something so you won’t break out.”

Remus looked at the small house-like building and smiled. “ It looks really cool!” He opened the door to look inside of it. There was a small window on one side of the shed where light was cast.

“ Well I’m glad you like it. This is going to be the shed you’ll transform in.” Mr. Lupin looked at his son with sad eyes and a small smile.

Remus looked into dark honey eyes,“ Why do I need a shed to transform?”  he asked.

His father sighed and answered,” Well, when you’re in your wolf state you won’t have any control over what you do. And you could hurt yourself, you could get lost, run away… The possibilities are endless.” He bent on one knee and hugged the lycan. “ We just want you to be safe, kay?” Remus nodded and hugged his father back.

“ I understand. Thanks.” The boy kissed his father’s prickly unshaven face. “ Ow, Daddy! You forgot to shave. You'll kill me with those hairs ” He laughed shyly.

His dad grinned mischievously,” Not as much as this’ll kill you.” He grabbed the small boy with one large hand and lightly fiddled his fingers along the boy’s stomach. Remus bust with laughter as he was tickled for what seemed like forever.

“D-Dad! S-Stop please!”

“ No way! I’m gonna tickle you till that smile is pasted on there for good!” For a whole hour they tickled each other, rolled in the grass, ran around the yard, climbed trees, anything you could think a father and a small boy would do. It was the most fun Remus had for a long time. Finally they laid in the green panting for air. “ That was fun.” Mr. Lupin breathed.

Remus nodded enthusiastically,” Yeah, can we do it again?” He looked to his father with hopeful eyes. “ Please.”

His father chuckled and answered,” Well, not every day… but I have Thursdays and Sundays off.” He winked to his son,” maybe then we could.” He sat up and ruffled his brown locks,” But now, I need to go out and but something in Diagon Alley.”

Remus popped up his head with excitement.” Can I go? I think I can handle it!”

Mr.Lupin shook his head, still containing the friendly smile,” No, I think that the smells might be a little over whelming. I’ll start you out small, kay?” Remus frowned but nodded. “ How about on Thursday I take you out to eat at Padfoot?”

The boy nodded,” Sounds like fun!”

“I’ll be back in twenty minutes tops, alright?” Remus nodded. “ Okay, see ya.” Mr.Lupin planted a kiss on Remus’ forehead and with a loud pop he was gone. Remus rolled on his side and yawned, closing his eyes. When he opened his eyes he felt a firm hand lightly shaking him. “ Remus… Rem, wake up please. It’s Daddy.”

The boy sniffed the air recognizing his father’ sent. “ Dad?” He opened his eyes to meet a smiling face

” How are you sleepy head?”  Mr.Lupin searched his long fingers through the boys hair.

“Mmmm… tired.” Remus squinted in the sunlight. “ What did you do?”

A grim expression appeared on his father’s face. “ Well… That’s kind of what I wanted to talk about. Erm… Why don’t you follow me.” He helped Remus up and held his hand to the shack. They walked inside and Remus say a new attachments, chains.

“ D-Dad?” Remus looked up to his father with surprise. “ Wha-What’re those for?”

Mr.Lupin sighed and knocked against the wall,” These walls aren’t the strongest. I never could get construction spells to do exactly what I wanted.” He sighed and bent to his son’s eye view. “ You’d break through the walls, Remus. I’m sorry but what can I do?” Remus walked over to the iorn chains and picked one up with his small hand.  They suddenly made the building dark, cold, heartless. With the iorn it seemed emptier than it was without them.

“ Dad… am I type of dog?” tears came to Remus’ eyes and dropped to the cold wooden floor.

Mr. Lupin swooped his arms to lift his son off the ground,” No, of course not.”

“ Then why chains?”

“ Remus, I don’t want you to escape and get lost in the woods-

“ I wouldn’t! I’d say in here! I would! I’d behave and everything!”

“ Remus, you don’t understand. You won’t have any control over what you do. You won’t be awake exactly… It’s hard to explain, Remus!” He grasped Remus tighter. “ You know I wouldn’t force you to do something unless if I had no choice right?”

Remus sobbed into his father’s shirt, grasping it with tiny fists. “ I-I guess…”
sorry I'm running late with the chapters! :faint: It's been crazy... Enjoy!

P.S. Padfoot is a cafe in Englad :giggle:

This is really awesome that you're writing a whole story dedicated to his childhood. I hope to some day, too, but in the meantime, I'm just gonna write in hints in Year 3.

Chains...good idea, I don't think I'll do that, but very interesting. Just be careful over puncuation, that's the only complaint I have. Good job!
